It’s been a slow week for me in World of Warcraft because my father-in-law passed away Saturday. We had the privilege of celebrating his life Wednesday afternoon.
For 11 years he fought a courageous battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and passed due to complications from a stem cell transplant. And while I only had the opportunity to know him for just over 4 years, he was a great man and a great example. You would be hard-pressed to find a man who treated his wife with more respect, who did his best to instill great values into his children, and set a great example in how he lived his life, displayed his work ethic, or in how he treated people.
It’s been hard on us and her family as he passed at the age of 56 as the complications continued to pile up. As little as 3 weeks ago he was attending family events and spending time with loved ones despite his condition.
The family had extended a special thanks to the countless doctors and nurses who helped treat him over the years, including those responsible for the transplant, the unknown donor who made the bone marrow transplant possible, and the fantastic care that he was given at the ICU.
This was off-topic but I felt it was warranted.
wish i could say the same thing about my father-in-law.
well, i mean… i would pick just one: that he is a great man or that he died of leukemia.

Thanks Shmii. They are doing pretty good now. Things hit them every now and then when it reminds them of him, but other than that, it’s been ok.
Glad you like the site refinement. I didn’t really think of Steam when I picked it, but I can definitely see it. :)

My heart goes out to you and your family. I lost my father to cancer six years ago and I still think about him almost every day.

Thanks Mania and I am sorry to hear about your loss. It’s been a struggle thinking about it but they have all been really strong.
