The New Authors at QQ

So I’ve recently been entertaining the idea of giving a bunch of people sub-sites on the QQ domain and let them write about other games. A lot of what they wanted to talk about was Starcraft 2. And it’s no secret that many of the community is a fan of both games. So I decided rather than splitting traffic across multiple sites and trying to manage look and feel and to make the advertising I have recently started paying for be most effective, I decided to add them as contributors on the main site.

Some concerns people have brought up in the past when I thought about talking about Death Knights or what not was that they wanted to be sure they could find Hunter posts. And rest assured that I already have methods in place to make sure that Hunter-related posts are easy to find.

I’ve also been wanting to write about things like Starcraft 2 or some of the games I’ve played. No doubt you have noticed posts from Warbull regarding the WoW TCG world championships and older posts about Dragon Age. One of the reason I want to do this is that the community has changed in the past couple years since this site started. Not for the worse mind you, but there is a lot less information that needs to be “unveiled.” We know what the hit cap is. We know when you should gem for Armor Penetration. Other communities have popped up such as the Wowhead forums, or the continued existence of the Elitist Jerk forums, and many more.

Do I plan to stop writing about Hunters? Not at all. I am looking forward to Cataclysm. I still love making videos or writing about my endeavors. But my endeavors also include things like trying very hard not to suck at Starcraft 2. Those endeavors might also include playing the WoW TCG and attempting to be competitive. While this change might make a few people unhappy, I hope most of you will like the direction we’re going and hopefully encourage more discussion on the site and bring new people to the site.

I’ve always have been a multi-faceted geek. I just want to write about it now.

So on that note, let me tell you about who I am adding as new authors here. My good friendĀ  Krutoypotsan who started writing “I Suck at Zerg” is joining the squad. He played WoW for many years as a Rogue and a Holy/Prot Paladin and while I still hope is resubscribes, he is busy with school and playing Starcraft 2. He is also a regular member of my weekend Magic: The Gathering or Dominion sessions.

The second person is a younger guy I work with who turned out to be awesome. He goes by the name of the Crazed Gunman or Rawr on battle.net and as you can see my his profile, he’s not shabby at this game. He originally started with “I am not a Crazed Gunman”, talking about Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2, which he still will cover, but has the desire to write about his Starcraft journey as well.

Writing about their hobbies is sort of a new thing but I hope you enjoy the content they continue to add to the site. I will be reconfiguring the menu bar to help make it easier to find particular items such as profiles and things.

So yeah. That’s what is going on.
