First off, pardon for the low quality pictures. My phone didn’t produce the quality I was hoping for.
I almost wasn’t able to make it this weekend to judge the Spectral Safari like I had mentioned in my previous post. Needless to say, it was a very long weekend with family members in definitely not what you would describe as the best health. We did get a temporary reprieve and I was able to make it back in time to judge the event, run a couple raid decks, and get my mind of the events earlier in the day.
We had 18 people tentatively register with 17 people pay for the event and play through 6 rounds of the tournament. We were able to move the rounds along pretty quickly with only one match ever needing us to go to end of turn steps.
Each participant was given a random newly-released class deck to use for the tournament. Straight out of the box, no modifications, etc. I am not sure what other tournaments say as the dominate deck but our eventual winner, although hoping for Horde Priest, received Horde Mage and promptly went 6-0.
His comments later were that while he felt his allies were weaker than other decks, he had so much ally removal, he was able to place some of it in his resource row without fear of running out.
And that did net him a Fiery Hippogryph from Cryptozoic.
We then rounded up enough folks to run the Naxxramas raid deck which yours truly was in charge of being at the helm of the raid. The players decided to tackle the Military quarter first which managed to wreck them as soon as they stepped foot in front of the 4 Horsemen. That’s what happens when you let the healer get aggro.
Did anyone out there participate in the Spectral Safari this weekend by chance? If so, how did you do?
And in other news, happy Starcraft 2 day!

I won the Spectral Tiger at the tournament in Manchester, NH. I had a Horde Warrior Deck and went 2-3 with it. Ugh. The deck was too reliant on equipment that never showed up.
Anyone know how long it’s going to take to get my Spectal Tiger in the mail from Cryptozoic?
Not sure on the time frame on getting your tiger. Your local shop had to submit some information such as the details on the form you filled out, etc. I would imagine a couple weeks or so as they sift through all the entries. Grats on winning the Tiger though, that’s awesome. Do you happen to know which deck took first?

I’m not sure what the winning deck was. I didn’t play against the guy that won, but i think it might have been one of the priest decks.
That was a decent deck. Shadowfiend is a strong card to come in a pre-con.
