So I know I was making a new effort to post more often, which I have been failing at. Life has been keeping me busy for a very good reason. I have recently learned that the Mrs. and myself are expecting a baby Drotara (or baby Mrs. Drotara) in just under 7 months.
Holy cow. How’s that a life changing situation for ya? Obviously I am incredibly excited. We’ve been married for almost 3 years now and have spent plenty of time working on being the favorite Aunt and Uncle to our nieces and nephews so I guess it was our turn to try our hand at parenting.
So with that note, I’ve been obviously working full-time as well as still teaching part time and night. Now is a good time as any to start putting money away for who knows what. As you guessed from the ambiguity of my earlier statement, no knowing yet whether we should be expecting a boy or girl but we have plenty of family members with hoards of baby stuff to help us out with.
And my wife has already requested that we buy a plush murloc. Which I think is a friggin’ fantastic idea. :)
So yeah. The easy, just-the-two-of-us, sleep till noon on weekends, eat out a lot lifestyle we lead = shattered. In its place we get the joy of parenthood. And while part of it is still sinking in, I am stoked.

Wyvern Plushie > Murloc Plushie
Congratulations man!
Sleeping till noon is definitely out… but you can still eat in restaurants. Mr. Crankyhusband and I take the twig with us just about everywhere, and she’s good – we trained her young.
Congrats, and don’t panic.
Congratulations, that certainly is a life changing event.
gz man
V happy for you. :)
Holy cow, Congratulations Danny!
Many many congratulations! Parenting is a whole new world, that’s for sure. Although I can tell you the “mother’s curse” (I hope you have a kid that’s just like you) actually does work. Just something to keep in mind. :)
Gratz on your RL epic.
Just like all things in life there is a balance and when life changes so does the balance. Oh how the schedule changes but with that comes a happiness that can’t be fulfilled any other way in life. Gratz to you and yours.

grats! thats pretty awesome news
Grats!
It’s worth every moment, every lost hour sleep, every dirty nappy, every time you heart launches into your throught in panic.
Just remember one thing. When the little one won’t sleep and you can’t keep your head up from sleep deprivation, and you feel the stress, fatigue and anger rising… They will never be the same again – not even tomorrow.
Take a deep breath and look at your baby… Just look (ok, singing help, do that as well, even if you sing as bad as me). It’s amazing how quickly the anger, fatigue etc subside when you stop and see the beauty.
On the subject of singing. We sang to our little on a lot when he was in the womb, just short stuff, nursery ryhmes and silly stuff.
It was a difficult birth, my wife was unconcious and Odin, minutes old, was very distressed… Until I started singing to him, he wasn’t in the womb any longer, but the world was a lot less unfamiliar.
Odin, You are (still) my sunshine!
