Is fantastic. Learn to love it. So a quick run down of important things to know about it.
- The cooldown doesn’t start till you fire a shot. If you Misdirect early, your group decides to not pull for 30 seconds and the buff runs out, the cooldown doesn’t start so you then have to wait another 30 seconds.
- The 4 seconds doesn’t start till you deal damage. If you Serpent Sting, it won’t start counting till Serpent Sting ticks or another shot hits your target(s).
- By all means, Volley. Misdirect large packs to your tank. They will love you for it.
- Your tanks won’t see the Misdirection buff on them until you actually start shooting. Reassure them that it is indeed being cast.’
I “called” up some old buddies and Freshmaker and I were able to go through 10-man ICC a couple nights ago. Well, we went through what’s open at least. And as shown in the little picture up there, I picked myself up a new ranged weapon. While none of the encounters were particularly challenging when compared to some of the stuff in Ulduar, there’s still lots more to come.

Very nice points about the Misdirect changes. This may be one of the more overlooked buffs to the hunter. There’s more here than just “multiple hunters can now redirect to the same target” which is pretty awesome on it’s own =)

Im digging the new content so far though. Still plenty to see.
There’s quite a bit of merit to that actually.
The Troll racial’s grant a better proc rate of the equip bonus, as well as 1% more crit from the bow usage. Now if you were in a DKP, SK or other non-loot council based system I’d say that’s an underhanded move though, but still, all things equal, a Troll with that weapon is mathematically better than any other race with it.

I absolutely LOVE the new MD. It’s just awsome. The only downside is the cooldown doesn’t start untill you cast it or it runs out. (I hate slow pulls ;P)
That bow actually dropped for us aswell yesterday…
The sad thing is that I should have been on my hunter but it turned out one of the healers couldn’t make it.
And since I had the only healer that wasn’t already locked I went on my shammy.
I was really kicking myself when I saw it drop, and ofcourse there was no other hunter in the group so it went to a rogue… /cry
I just got the ilvl 264 T10 Gloves, they are sweet. Our bonuses look very good. Also some shoulders from 10 and bracers and legs from 25, It was good to be the only hunter in those raids.

Has anyone seen a new timer that counts the 4 seconds of actual MD time?
I use Khartus’ Hunter Timer, and all I’ve seen is the 30sec you have to shoot or the 30sec cooldown if you don’t use it.
Elkano’s BuffBars shows the 30s to shoot and the 4s MD time. You could probably make a PowerAura for it as well.
Great tip on volley, I let my tank readers know too.
I’ve found that the combination of the new LFG system plus the misdirection changes have made triple boxing my hunters in heroics unbelievably awesome. Tanks don’t even need to try with aggro with 3 hunters pulling MD + volley off nearly every fight!
