I think I finally managed to get the site running nice and quick again. I put the site into Maintenance Mode and disabled all my WordPress plug-ins one at a time trying to find where the slow down was coming from. The best I was able to determine was that it was related to Contact Form 7 and its related CAPTCHA plugin and the mail plugin that fixed the inability for WordPress to send out emails on certain installs. I got rid of all three, put back the old mail link and the site is running speedy again! Thansk for bearing with me everyone.
