Rolling out the Changes

I want to thank everyone for putting up with the downtime last and and this morning. I stayed up most of the night to make sure everything was going to be running smoothly. I want to re-welcome everyone to Less QQ, More PewPew in it’s new re-designed glory. What exactly is new?

  1. Complete overhaul of the front-end. Hopefully it makes it more visually appealing when you are browsing around.
  2. Twitter integration showing my latest tweets. Almost everyone I follow and interact with is WoW-related (with a few exceptions).
  3. Popularity Contest provides links to the most popular posts on the blog, based off criteria like the number of views, comments, links, etc.
  4. The re-introduction of the Intense Debate comment system. It was popular in the past and with the new template and using a WordPress back-end, the comment system was easy to get functional again. Welcome back those threaded comment discussions! All the previous comments are currently being imported to IntenseDebate and they should be back on the site in a couple hours. (We had a lot of comments to import)
  5. Last but not least, the opening of the QQ Forums. You’ll find a handy link over at the right of the page.

While there are plenty of other forums, with so many bloggers quitting, switching characters, or whatever I felt it was the right time to open up my own. I also think it will be much easier for people to get answer they are looking for, whether it is from me or any of the great readers I have here.

You’ll find working Wowhead tooltips on the forums, as well as a thread I already started with some of my Power Aura configurations. I hope you’ll register and join us.

And I am sure someone is going to ask about the ads on the right-side of the page. They are simply affiliate programs with my current web host and Jinx. I’ve been very happy with Webfaction so I have no issues recommending them to anyone else. Their program is anyone who decides to use their hosting through my affiliate link, I get 10% of what they spent towards my web hosting bill.

And Jinx, well, Jinx is awesome.

There might be a few nuances on the front page I am working on correcting so bear with me as I put any finishing touches on the site.

Hopefully everyone like the changes. I am excited for this new version of QQ to be out in the open. As always if you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to post a comment, message me on Twitter, e-mail me, or stop by the forums. The list of how to get a hold of me is getting longer and longer.
