Friday Ramblings: Watchmen, Alts, etc

Don’t worry, no spoilers here. I did go see the Watchmen last night. I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more if I had read the graphic novel/comic. It was a pretty cool movie to watch in the most part. I know my brother-in-law enjoyed it a lot. But it’s definitely no on my list of “awesome movies that I need to see again and/or own.”

That list has things like Gladiator, the first Matrix (and only the first one), Serenity, etc. :)

A bunch of folks that I know in real life finally started playing WoW. Unfortunately one of them picked the server for them to all roll characters on and it wasn’t Illidan despite much coaxing and prodding. They actually picked Silver Hand. The Alliance home of another Hunter some people may know.

So I rolled up a Death Knight alt named Drotara and waited for all of them to catch up to me. And they are almost there. And . . . I decided to make him a tailor. Mainly because there is no sugar daddy on that server, bags has proven to be great money with little time commitment and risk.

So know we will all have to hunt down Tawyn and furiously /wave and /smile at her! It is a PvE server after all. My wife wasted no time rolling up another alt. Especially when she learned that she couldn’t be ganked by Rogues and Death Knights.

We knocked some more achievements out of the way last night by running a 8-man Naxxramas. That let us pick up The Dedicated Few and Subtraction. It has brought my pain-stakingly close to my Plagued Proto-Drake. All that remains is 10-man Obsidian Sanctum with 3 drakes, not getting hit by a Lava Strike, and 6-minute Malygos. It’s a short list but consists of what many call the hardest PvE encounter in the game.

It’ll get done though. That hawt drake will be mine.

Other than that, pretty uneventful. Planning a 6-minute Malygos with the guild hopefully. And if it happens, I will be sure to record it for everyone.

Well, I will wrap this up for now. Have a great weekend! Thoughts, comments, etc. And if you saw Watchmen, keep spoilers out of the comments if you would be so kind. But to be fair, I hear it stayed *almost* exactly true to the graphic novel.

About Drotara

Drotara (or BehemothDan) considers himself a geek on many levels. A web developer and programmer by trade, he has no shortage of geeky hobbies. When not fulfilling husband and daddy duties, he enjoys WoW, the WoW TCG, Magic: The Gathering, and great board games with friends and family.
