I didn’t get a chance to sit down and write a real post today. I had some other things to get taken care of. However I want to thank everyone who is participating in the contest. One benefit from having entries as comments is that I get to find all these new blogs of people I never read before. that’s exciting.
Tomorrow I want to take a look at what specs might come out of the changes that are headed our way. We know 50/21 isn’t going to work so some other mainstream alternatives are going to prevail, as well as some other strange options.

It’s the Lock and Load / Arcane Shot spec isn’t it? :P
It’ll be tough balancing the mana efficiency talents for crit talents in both trees though, but it could prove viable. Just depends on how much damage you can force out with Lock and Load procs compared to the mana hog that is Chimera Shot.

So, the nerfs really sucks for bm hunters. I really hope it wont be as bad as it sound. =/
I know you played SV before so why not give that a shot again? It’s really not that awful. I play deep SV (20/51), and i’m sharing the #1 and #2 on the dps meter with a BM hunter and we’re kinda far away from the rest of the pack. I unloaded 4k dps on Patchwerk last night and got in second place with a difference with 36 dps to the BM hunter.

I must admit, trying Survival has been gnawing in the back of my mind for a couple days now. I was thinking some like your build or a 5/15/51 of some sort. Part of me wants to try it just to see who I can still out-DPS. And who knows. GC said those changes weren’t exhaustive so we might see some Survival love to bring it up to par with other specs.

Do you think those talent points put in improved steady are still worth it or should they be moved? Also how do you think the new shot rotations should/will look to maximize dps now?

If you are MM, I think iSS is still a good talent since inevitably we will be using Steady Shot no matter what they do to it. And being deep MM having the Chimera Shot buff from that talent is going to be nice. As far as shot rotations go, I think it’s going to take more than this nerf to stop Steady Shot spam. As long as the mana cost to damage ratio is better on Steady Shot it will be the shot of choice.
