I had a few people send me e-mails about how to kite Gluth in 10-man Naxxramas. They were told it was going to be their job and wanted to make sure they did it right. So I recorded a new video demonstrating how to do it. I was pleased on how well the kiting went. The low-quality kinda butchers it. Watch it in high quality to see it much clearer. Enjoy!

nice vid, gotta do the kiting myself as our frostmage doesnt want to do it, dont like it too much, just a hint, u can help with dps, just let your pet attack gluth as u dont need him to be with your kiting ;)

Great vid and great choice of song! I’ve had to do the kiting several times, both in 10-man and heroic Naxx, but you’re way better at it than I am. :D

Wow that looked pro. You obviously got a lot of pvp experience, using the frost trap that well.
I’ve kited a few times for both Naxx 10 and 25, using aspect of the dragonhawk + glyph of aspect of the monkey + disengage. It’s really messy at times. I’m not sure if I could use the entire room for kiting like you did because I tend to lose aggro on them.
Looks like one of the keys is no damage so no healing agro. Very nice dancing Dro and great music lol.
Are the spawns random or do they have a pattern?
Did you switch between aspects hawk and cheeta?

On 10-man, they always spawn in the middle and he should decimate after 9 spawns. In this example, after the initial 2 spawned I switched to Cheetah only switcihng back to Hawk after he decimates. :)

I know the pet would help out on damage. But I usually keep him there by me to intimidate any stragglers or ones that escape the the Frost Trap in case of emergencies. That’s the only reason. :)

Anyways. For those who have an interest in SSGCD, I’ve got it up on WoWInterface and Curse now. It’s listed as version 1.2 cause I uploaded a wrong draft to both the sites and didn’t notice it. 1.2 has the tier7 4p bonus where as 1.1 just copied the formula’s from Ace and added the Glyph of Improved Aspect of the Hawk.
I’ve been debating on how practice this though. I used to kite mobs around BRD, Scholo and Strat at 70, but it really isn’t the same now that I’m 80 and they’re still 50-60 mobs.
I’m debating on picking a BC instance like Crypts or even Mana Tombs to practice this, but it’s hard to re-enact the whole adds spawning in the same point bit, as well as pick mobs that won’t stand there and cast Fireball on you (We all know how hard that is to kite). So I’ve thought about heading over to Howling Fjorde or Borean Tundra and grabbing some Vrykul or Clefthoof and kite those around, meanwhile picking up a mob every 10 seconds and keep going. Feign and repeat.
Any thoughts?

I’m sitting at work, so they won’t let me watch the vid. Pre-BC I was marks, BC I was BM, and now with replenish I have gone SV as I lead my raids.
I just wanted to throw out there that explosive shot currently makes the kiting super easy. Since it is instance, 6sec CD, AOE right now it is the best imo. You don’t even have to pop cheetah.
Sadly, it sounds like explosive shot is having it’s AOE aspect nerfed away and it will just be a glorified arcane shot. And to think I was actually enjoying SV for the first time. Perhaps I’ll have to go back to MM. Oh yeah, BM was the funniest by far back when SS was uber.

They seem to run faster than the normal 100% is that right? (or only when they get within a certain range?)
You’re using Cheetah but you don’t seem to get hit (ranged) except when Gluth decimates?
A place where this can be practiced would indeed be nice :-)
Don’t feel to comfortable going in without practicing since I’m not a great kiter.

Hey~ just wanted to update- I ran a 25 man Naxx last night…so we set up like we do for the 10 man version… me and a DK (Balistik, in my guild). Yeah well the rate of zombies popping up overhwlemed us almost immediately. We wiped twice and I came up with a rudimentary strategy. It was me the DK and another hunter. We split up the grates with the DK on the middle me on the right and the other hunter on the left. The zombies that came out of our grates were our responsibility. THe DK would run between our grates and try to AOE aggro the zombies from us as much as he could. I ended up being overwhelmed by zombies during the 3rd decimate but we downed Gluth….
Just wondering if you’ve done 25 man naxx gluth and what you ended up doing for it?
I want to work on this strat so next time I don’t die. but even if I do it doesn’t matter. one thing i would do diff would be to go switch out pets and bring my gorrilla for this fight. it would help out TONS.
Awesome video – helped immensely when my Naxx-10 pug asked me to kite even though it was my first time in Naxx. I did need a healer to keep an eye on me though.

I’ve been doing the kiteing on gluth for a while on both 10 and 25 but always had either 2 frost traps or a frost trap and an earthbind totum (3 typs of slow on 25). the other day we had only me (10 man) with one frost trap and i was epically failing to keep all the zombies kited (well i kited them but kept dieing), in the vid looks like you have the trap and totum up, have you ever done this with just a trap? or was i just having a bad day :P
