Broken Comments, Geeking Out

EDIT: It appears I can view my comments and post comments using Firefox again. Not sure what fixed it, but it works. Thanks to Michael from Intense Debate for seeing the my blog post and being more than willing to respond! I don’t know if he did anything but the willingness he showed to help fix it was awesome. Now I can close IE again.

So Intense Debate seems to be down at the moment. None of the comments are loading, and I can’t post a problem on their forums because it tells me I am not registered. Although I have the dashboard pulled up, showing myself logged in I can’t do a thing. Depending on how long they are down, I might just remove the system. I really don’t feel like having my whole site have loading issues because of a single implementation.

Everything on my site, as far as functionality goes runs of Google applications. Images are hosted on Picasa, Lightbox is hosted on Google Pages, obviously the site runs of Blogger, etc. Intense Debate is the only one that isn’t, and the reliability is being called into question. It’s too bad, because I like what it does.

Sunday night my wife and I went over to my brother-in-law’s and taught her and both her brothers to play Magic: The Gathering. Yup, my wife voluntarily learned to play Magic. Yesterday we went and bought her a preconstructed deck so her and her brother could throw down with fairly balanced decks as they learned to play, as he bought one too. Being the major geek that I am, I used to play Magic competitively, so it’s pretty awesome for me to have my wife willingly picking up these games and learning to play.

After they played some Magic last night, I taught them both how to play the WoW card game and we went and picked up a few more of those. Lucky me, I was able to get a card for Papa Hummel’s Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuits and a Personal Weather Machine. This goes along with my existing luck from December when I got a Spectral Tiger, which I sold for $700. It paid for Christmas. It was great.

We built my wife a nice Undead Rogue deck that we still need to tweak to compete against her brother’s new Hunter deck. Ahh, family building activities.

I have to head to a meeting now. I don’t have them very often so I figure I cannot complain too much. I would like to give a shout out to Atroxus, one of the folks who read the blog who got accepted into our guild yesterday to join our raiding roster. Welcome!

I’m out for now. I might make another post later today.
