It Wasn’t A Fluke

Traveling back to Mount Hyjal and Black Temple to repeat some of the stuff we did last week, we managed to show that it wasn’t just a fluke chance we killed things. We killed Rage Winterchill, which allowed me to progress my quest so I could get my Medallion of the Karabor. But we then learned that our fire resist tank decided to quit the game. Go figure. So that pretty much ruled out killing Anetheron, so instead we went back to Black Temple.

We killed High Warlord Naj’entus again. And guess what? Yeah, you guessed it. Yours truly picked up the Halberd of Desolation. Go us! It’s kind of funny, I am purposely trying to lose hit rating in favor of raw stats, but even then I am sitting at 149 hit rating without trying. I even decided to give up 10 Agility in favor of wearing my Shadowhunter’s Treads to gain the DPS from the armor penetration.

I guess my DPS didn’t suffer too bad by switching to Survival, as I managed to pull third on DPS for Naj’entus. Here is the WWS report if you are interested. Overall, we lost about 1000 raid DPS compared to our first kill, but that could be attributed to a lot of things. I was 4th on Rage Winterchill but overall I am still happy with my DPS output as Survival. I ended up using this macro:
#showtooltip Steady Shot
/castsequence reset=2.52 !Auto shot, Steady Shot
/cast [target=pettarget,exists] Kill command
/castrandom Arcane Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

That was pulled from Alu’s site. In addition, it seems that he has finished some testing regarding haste and Survival spec’d Hunters. I am logging forward to the data in the next couple days to see if we can make a decision if it is going to be viable for us.

It’s almost needless to say, but my mana efficiency has increased significantly. I ended up using only a couple potions during Naj’entus, and they were Mad Alchemist Potions to help top myself off for the water shield damage. Thrill of the Hunt is a great talent.

Moirainne picked up Felstone Bulwark so that was pretty exciting for her.

Depending on who shows up tonight, we may be looking at Teron Gorefiend or Anetheron and the rest of Mount Hyjal. This is all reliant on us having the proper tanks. Warbull vanished last night, which almost caused us to cancel the raid as we were lacking a really well-geared tank. I am hoping he still wants to raid. You cannot gear up two tanks equally, and we obviously need one to be our true main tank. And Gnomepunter, who was the fire resist tank for Anetheron, was the other option to be our main tank. Since he has quit the game, Warbull is pretty much a given to receive all our hawt tankey-like loots.

OK, I think that’s it for now. Any questions or comments, leave ‘em here.
